Banned From TV (Freestyle) – “…I’m charging these hoes like women basketball”

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Mister Carter went in and delivered as promised. A complete lyrical driven body of work before he goes in for a year. I was amazed by the Run This Town freestyle but even more so with his Banned From TV freestyle. People have always overlooked and forgotten that classic. Glad to see he brought it back. He goes in. This is a MUST have, regardless if you’re a fan or not. Download the 17-track mixtape right here.

Lil Wayne top 10….

Good Monday ladies and gentlemen. Lets start off with Grammy award winning artist Lil Wayne doing the Letterman top 10 from a few nights ago. I personally don’t find this exceptionally hilarious, but it is kinda charming.  Check it out…

MAKE WAY FOR THE BAD GUY!!!

im_just_sayin-700.jpg

1. I’ve been waiting for Saigon to drop since ’04 and ain’t sh!t popped. Yeah he gave us Warning Shots, Return of the Yardfather, Moral of the Story, DJ Whoo Kid x JB Present: Abandon Nation…but SO WHAT?!? In my opinion, Just shifted his focus to Jay Electronica. Heck, I’ve seen more pics, interviews and footage of them two together than I’ve seen of Sai and Blaze. This album is long over due and we sure as hell deserve it this year (same goes for Detox).

2. The Oscars and the Grammys are just events held by rich folks to give out awards to their rich BFF friends.

3. Juelz Santana should have been where Lil Wayne is today. We all know before Weezy popped off, Bandana was the topic of discussion everywhurr after What the Games been Missing dropped.  I can’t feel my face was suppose to come ages ago, and somewhurr along the release the project disappeared (along with Juelz) and Weezy became the new face of the game. If only Juelz wasn’t caught in the house drama BS, he would have had it just a good or even greater than Weezy. He deserved it and still does. Aaeh!

4. As an ex Dipset fan, I miss the homie Cam. He was our Harlem dude that we took for granted and instead we gave passage to all the wrong fools. Sure Cam’s style was hella childish at times, but he was swaggin’ waay before ya’ll even knew the word existed (SPLASH!). “…Snow so White, only thing missin’ are 7 dwarves.” Wow!

5. Jimmy is the new Cam. And he’s just as funny. BAWLINNNN’!!!!!!!!!!!!! (<— Jimmy talking greasy. Face expression @ 0:30 = Priceless)

So I caved…

yes.JPG

As much as I was resisting to post, I just couldn’t help it. And as much as I may complain about this, the beat and Pharrell’s verse seems to overpower it. Skateboard P is too underrated for his vocal/rhyming abilities. The man is a genius song writer and an incredible producer (alongside with Chad). Hate all you want, but In My Mind was an eye-opener and was ridiculously slept on. If you haven’t already, peep the album and check out the ?uestlove collabo on Out Of My Mind.

Lil Wayne x Pharrell = Yes!

Review: Lil Wayne – Carter III

lil-wayne-carter-3-cover_real.jpg
It’s a big day for many, but its an even bigger day for Dwayne Carter aka Weezy F Baby. After much talk, countless features/cameos and numerous mixtapes, the man has finally been able to release his long due album, The Carter III. The Young Money team deserves a lot of credit for the marketing and promoting that was put behind this album, as it sure has helped expand the buzz globally. However, with endless marketing dollars, street buzz and a blazing single, the album falls short of being anything near a damn classic. I personally like just as many songs as I hate on the album. C’mon Weezy, I thought you had much better choice in picking your producers and should have saved those features for your own album. I bet a lot of kids were heart broken, when they found out that Mr. Carter had nothing to do with Just Blaze, hah. It’s a heavy joint, but the beat cannot be compared to Just Blaze’s caliber. And of course, without a doubt, Jay-Z had the best verse on the album and I just heard that he killed the Millie beat off of Carter III. Not a good look! Wayne does an amazing job by shining over the beats provided by Mr. West and prolly had the best storytelling on Dr. Carter. Good looking on the beat Swizz. The other producers who contributed their B class beats were Cool & Dre, David Banner, StreetRunner and such. Regardless the flaws, the album is bound to do a millie. His success is long over due and he definitely will land the number 1 spot with his lollipop single, which is also the number 1 ring-tone. Wayne’s just reaching his prime and I have a feeling that he will deliver a classic, eventually. Speaking of classics, where the fruck is Detox???
Must Check Out:
Mr. Carter feat Jay-Z
Dr. Carter
Tie My Hands feat Robin Thicke
Shoot Me Down
Let The Beat Build
Nothing On Me feat Fabolous, Juelz Santana
